PLM Green Alliance

The PLM Green Global Alliance Has Moved

Visit our new dedicated website for the

PLM Green Global Alliance at

https://plmgreenalliance.com/

The mission of the new PLM Green Alliance is to create global connection, communication, and community between professionals who use, develop, market, or support Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) related technologies and software solutions that have value in addressing the causes and consequences of climate change due to human-generated greenhouse gas emissions. We are motivated by the technological challenge to help create a more sustainable and green future for our economies, industries, communities, and all life forms on our planet that depend on healthy ecosystems.

PLM Green AllianceIn our discussions we seek to educate, advocate, and collaborate for greater recognition of the role of PLM to help assess, reduce, mitigate, and adapt (when necessary) to the effects of climate change. There are many examples of how PLM-related technologies are doing just that, but very few focused on-line forums where resources and application case studies are researched, shared, and promoted for the collective good.

We invite anyone with a sincere professional interest in the intersection of PLM and topics such as Climate Change, Sustainability, Green Energy, and the Circular Economy to join our recently formed PLM Green Global Alliance LinkedIn Group and help build a movement with us. Yet, please note that this is not a forum which will study or debate the science of carbon emissions, global warming, or climate change. That function is already covered by many respectable global organizations which have concluded that human-generated climate change is happening now and its effects will be severe as well as irreversible if current trends are not arrested.

Members of our informal alliance are invited to share and collaborate across a non-political global community of professionals working with PLM-related technologies that can help transform our economies to be more energy efficient and carbon neutral.

PLM Market Segments

These technologies include but are not limited to: Product Data Management (PDM), Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), Simulation & Analysis (SA), Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Digital Twins (DT), Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM), Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing (AM/3DP), Product Portfolio Management (PPM), Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR), Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Visualization (Viz), Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO), Product Cost Management (PCM), Architectural Engineering Construction/Building Information Modeling (AEC/BIM), Service Lifecycle Management (SLM), Asset Lifecycle Information Management (ALIM), Configuration Lifecycle Management (CM), Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT), High Performance Computing (HPC)  and Enterprise Innovation Management (EIM).

We invite working professionals, researchers, teachers, students, users, developers, marketers, and followers of these applications to share examples and case studies of how PLM technologies have been used to:

  •   make products and processes more efficient and sustainable
  •   find and develop new sources of renewable energy
  •   store and transmit alternative energy supplies
  •   reduce or sequester human-made carbon emissions
  •   recapture natural greenhouse and methane gasses
  •   develop green manufacturing processes
  •   design products and lifecycles to be environmentally friendly
  •   simulate and test global geoengineering technologies
  •   recycle, reuse, or repurpose assets, materials, and natural resources
  •   monitor a warming planet and impact of climate change
  •   enhance the resiliency of infrastructures, communities and economies

We expect to launch a website in early 2020 where we collect, research, and share these examples along with thought leadership, white papers, success stories, and other useful resources submitted to us from around the globe.

Participate in our discussion starting now by joining the newly-formed PLM Green Global Alliance LinkedIn Group at https://www.linkedin.com/groups/12304531/. The initial members of the group include Rich McFall from PLM Alliances, Jos Voskuil from TacIT, Oleg Shilovitsky from Beyond PLM and Bjorn Fidjeland from plmPartner. We welcome the contribution your ideas, suggestions, experience and topics by contacting Rich McFall in North America at rich@plmalliances.com or Jos Voskuil in Europe at tacit@planet.nl.
